'Thanks very much for the Magic Salt feature, it's brilliantly written and very interesting.'' Features Editor - Fate & Fortune Magazine.

'I've have been reading up about paganism and spells for a few years and this is one of the most informative books for a beginner when it comes to spell. The books also reminds you of the rules of spells which should never be missed out. I couldn't put it down once I'd started. Excellent."  M Sallabank. Review for There's a Little Witch in Every Woman.

"We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you, on behlaf of Hodder Education, for all your hard work and commitment in producing this book. It really has been a pleasure working with you!" Harry Scoble. Development Editor. Hodder Education

"A good source of support and basic information. Should be in every library in England." Education Otherwise. Review for Teach Yourself Home Education.

"Good to see something else coming through with birth signs, outside of the usual zodiac and Chinese signs, thanks for running this, people. Great article, BTW."  Antonia Woodville. Review for Native American Astrology feature in the Daily Express.

"There has obviously been a lot of work gone into it and I thought "yes bring on the waning moon and let me shed a few pounds!!" You have such an easy style that imparts knowledge and information without sounding stuffy or technical. That is not to say it is not taken seriously because it most definitely is.
Congratulations again."
John Metcalfe. Review for my feature in the Daily Express about moon phases.

Love this book. Brought it out of recommendation from a friend, did a money spell from it and two days later was offered the job of my dreams, plus the cost of additional training for a course I wanted to do. Thanks Midia, you've made my dreams come true!! Reader review at Barnes & Noble for There's a Little Witch in Every Woman.

"Whether your child is home-schooled or not, this handy reference book provides the info you need to source, deliver and support a balanced education. The writing style is conversational, yet informative, making it easy to understand. I recommend it to anyone considering the option of home-schooling; it provides a detailed overview of the process involved."
Amazon reviewer - 5 stars!

"Your feature, Animal Magic by Deborah Durbin (June 2009 issue) was spot on. I'm an elk and what it said about not being academic but artistic is true for me as I am a writer!"
J. Day - London - reader of Natural Health magazine.

Teach Yourself Home Education' by Deborah Durbin

A new book, published Summer 2009, with a wealth of information about home education in the UK. It covers the legalities in detail, taking parents through the various steps needed to de-register their child from school.  It has chapters about the reasons why many families decide to home educate, whether due to problems in school or a philosophical belief in home education, and it also looks in a more general way about the kinds of people - across a huge spectrum - who choose this option.  Previous research into home education is referenced and explained.

Then there are sections about different learning styles, and some of the possible ways of going about home educating. There's a short chapter about socialising - something that always seems to be considered a problem by those who have not home educated - and a detailed look at how it is possible to get qualifications such as GCSEs, if desired.

Ideal for anyone who wants to know more about home education, or who worries that it might not be a positive option.  Recommended to anyone just starting out.
